Maui Mountain Activities · Wailuku side
Ninety minutes on your own ATV across a 500-acre ranch on the Wailuku side of the West Maui Mountains, up to distant waterfall views and back down toward the ocean. Pick it if every driver is 16 or older and wants the handlebars to themselves, in a group of eight at most.

Maui Mountain Activities runs its ATV and horseback rides from a ranch off Kahekili Highway, on the Wailuku side of the West Maui Mountains: the opposite side from Ka'anapali and Kapalua. A couple of minutes before the address, look for a big yellow "Maui Mountain Activities Parking" sign on the left. A guide arrives a few minutes before check-in and escorts you to the part of the ranch where the ATVs are kept.
After an orientation you ride your own machine across what the operator's ATV page calls the 500-acre ranch, up toward the mountains to view waterfalls from a distance, then down to the coast for a shoreline view. Guides stop for photos and history, and take pictures with your camera. One guest could "let loose" on a few open paths once the guides gave the okay. Water, soda and juice are included, and guests mention a small farm on the property with peacocks, piglets and deer.
The fine print. Drivers must be 16 and hold a valid driver's licence, and Viator tickets start at 16. The listing mentions a guide-driven 6-seat UTV for riders under 16, which the operator's own ATV page does not, so ask before you plan around a younger child. The operator's page requires long pants and closed-toe shoes. Expect dust: one guest wrote "don't plan any activities after because you will need a bath".
Those are the check-in times on the operator's site. Wait by the yellow parking sign; the guide arrives a few minutes before and leads the cars up to the ranch.
An orientation to the vehicle before you head out.
Ride the ranch tracks up to the top of the valley to view the waterfalls from a distance.
The route drops toward the oceanfront for a shoreline view, with the guide's commentary on the land along the way.
The ride ends back at the meeting point. Guests mention a small farm on the ranch with peacocks, piglets and deer.
★★★★★I had a great first time experience! The guides were very patient and attentive. We got to see some beautiful sights from high up and able to "let loose" on a few open paths when we got the okay to.
★★★★★Fun experience and well guided. Loved how much history is on that land - great stories along the way! Cute little farm area including peacocks, little piglets and deer!
★★★★★This was mine and my family's favorite thing we did on our week long vacation! The ATV ride was fun and the views were gorgeous, but we would've been just fine hanging out with all the animals at the farm.
★★★★★Great experience! Atvs were in good shape, trail was fun and the views excellent. Staff who works here were all great and made sure everyone had a fun experience.
